Flat Daddies

Posted on Nov 30, 2010 11:12:09 AM

As you may or may not know, Wayne served in the U.S. Army and is a Dessert Storm Veteran. Although I didn’t know him them, it still makes me very proud to know that he is such a smart and brave man.

That said, I had never heard of Flat Daddies until I read about it in a group today.  I almost cried reading the story that was in the Parade Magazine.  Anyway, I’m going to donate and buy at least one family one of the Flat Daddies as I can’t even imagine how hard this is on all of our military families.

I’m not asking you to donate unless it is something you just want to do, I just wanted to share the story because it just adds a bit of reality to some of the stories we hear every day.

The school children in my area made Thanksgiving cards and sent them to a group of troops who are still in the U.S. but are sending Christmas Cards to the troops abroad. If you have any inclination to do such, the post office indicated that you ship to the military address via their shipping system and you need to get items in the mail by December 15, 2010.

If there is anything you want to do, think about one of these methods.
