Helping Our Educators
Posted in Featured education I teach kindergarten in rural South Carolina. My school is located along the "Corridor of Shame." You can watch the video here to learn more about the conditions of our schools.(http://www.corridorofshame.com/) Ninety-three percent of our students receive free and/or reduced lunches. The budget is tight. All of our funds have been frozen. We can order no new supplies at the moment. We did receive $275 per teacher from the state. Our principal asked us to use this money to purchase our own copy paper and ink cartridges for our computer. I am constantly looking for contests for materials to use in my classroom. I have been lucky to have won some great books, LeapFrog Tag Readers and other things for my students to use. I need your help. There's a contest that I'd love to win. It's sponsored by Wooden Toddler Toys.First place prize is a Magnet Express. This would be wonderful for my students with poor fine motor skills. Please got o this website - http://bit.ly/3DChT9 . You need to scroll down to the green voting section. Use the drop down menu and vote for me! I'm @sumrthyme .You may vote once per day. The contest ends on August 24th. Thank you for supporting teachers and students!
