School’s Out School’s Out, Teacher let the Monkey’s Out

Posted in Featured education

School was back in session on Tuesday.  The holidays were over.  The little learners were back in classroom.  And all was well with the world.

And then, old man winter reared his ugly head.

No electricity at our house today.  I kept Walker home.  By 10:30, calls came that school would dismiss tomorrow at 10:30 and no school on Friday.

What?

NO!  That’s now how this works.

You see, when the weather man hints that there might be snow, you skip your homework and then spend the night fidgeting over the idea of having to go to school because there is not enough snow ice to warrant school being canceled.

So, what’s up with this canceling school this far in advanced?

And hey, what’s up with all this arguing between two little boys.  I love ‘em.  They love each other. But, by granny, they have fought like cats and dogs all doggone day!

Someone save me!

They cancel school for any little drop of snow these days, it seems. But wow, I still remember those days when I was a kid, and my mom would be listening out on the radio (yeah, no internet) and I’d hear my school listed as one of those shut. Happiness.
