School’s Out, School’s Out, Teacher’s Let the Monkey’s Out
I’m not sure that’s a politically correct little song anymore but whatever….school isn’t actually out yet. Today is a full day but Wednesday and Thursday are half days and the Friday is Christmas Party and then out even earlier.
And, that’s about where my sanity will end.
I’m not sure how many of you remember the terrors of Thanksgiving week, the training for the Olympics in my family room at 6 AM, we had sky diving (jumping from sofa into beanbag) and we had hockey (yes they were trying to play hockey with small hockey sticks that my in-laws brought and the puck from their air hockey table). The thing is, that was only for 3 days and luckily next week will only be 3 days that I have to go at it alone.
The next week will be another 3 day week for me to parent alone as Wayne is off Thursday and Friday both weeks. We have no plans whatsoever to travel as I had hoped. It’s just not going to be possible I don’t guess. I’m no where near finished shopping, actually I should say I haven’t really even started. Oh well….
So, let’s all say a silent prayer for me tonight because as of 11:15 tomorrow, it is on and poppin’ around here……Oh my, that sounds so scary doesn’t it
And, while I sit and make jokes about my children driving me nuts, one of our very own bloggers has lost her 2 year old son. He drowned in the pool in their new house. They had been there 3 weeks and her husband was training to head to Afghanistan. So, naturally, I’m being precocious when I talk about my children as if they are wild barracudas. I could barely sleep last night for thinking about our fellow blogger. Keep her and her family in your prayers and naturally, this makes you want to just hold on to your children just a wee bit tighter today.
