Thanksgiving 2010, Iron Bowl 2010 and one little boys turns 6

Indeed, 6 years ago today, we were looking at our sweet new little boy who was born 5 weeks early. He was big though, a whopping 6.6 pounds which for a baby that early really is a big deal. That said, for his birthday, I made the mistake of planning his party at the exact time the Alabama and Auburn football teams were set to face-off.
I had been in labor several times prior to that Thanksgiving day and and even spent the night at the hospital just three days earlier. My doctor insisted that I make it to 35 weeks. And I did, and I took myself off of bedrest to go eat at my grandmothers. Shortly after midnight, we were looking at an emergency c-section.
He’s here and in all his sweetness, he has paid us back for that mishap on his first birthday. This year, just like last year, his birthday has turned into a 4 day affair. But, look at the kid…how can you not just want to squeeze his little cheeks and say Happy Birthday Baby Boy….and then turn your attention and yell Roll Tide at the television for Iron Bowl 2010.
