		<description>What I&#039;m hearing is not that you need to help them with their homework so much as needing to help them focus on their homework, so that&#039;s what I&#039;ll answer....

For boys, you need to help them focus most of the way through middle school.  They are not meant for sitting and drilling (generally speaking) and so they need a lot of guidance to keep them on task when the task is not one they want to accomplish. 

As for actual help on specific problems, I wouldn&#039;t do the work, but I&#039;d certainly supervise, interact, encourage, and help when needed.
