Educating the World – One Person at a Time

I was only gone a day and a half

Posted on Jan 12, 2010 09:13:23 PM

This is going to be brief.  It’s bedtime at my house, actually, it’s about 30 minutes past my kids bedtime. However, I left on Sunday for a conference in Nashville.  I returned this morning.  The conference was great.  But, was it worth it?

My children are whiney and have cried at the drop of a hat all afternoon.  It’s kind of a long story but my mom and I had a disagreement last week in front of the boys.  My husband and I never argue.  And, I don’t mean, we never argue.  Period.  You can read about that on Skimbaco Lifestyle  where I entered a contest and my post is called I Found My Reason

My mom though has a bit of a flare for the dramatics and chose to argue in front of my children.  The only two people my children have witnessed arguing has been my mother and I.  She has cancer and is extremely emotional and it’s ….well anyway, last week, the kids were decidedly upset with the way she talked to me.

They haven’t really wanted to stay out there that much since.  And, that’s a major ordeal because normally we bring them home kicking and screaming.  But, in the last week, they have not only asked to stay home but have begged to come home.  They do ask to go out there but don’t want to stay long.  And, of course, with me being gone, they were with her because my husband had to work.

And now, I have two extremely whiney boys.  And I hate it.  I love social media.  I love the writing, the networking, the helping raise money for my son’s school through social media..I love it all.  But, are attending conferences worth it if my children are going to be so adversely affected?

I have one more trip planned that is in reference to social media but it is in Orlando and it is a family trip to Disney.  Other than that, I just don’t know if I can leave me kids again for a while.  I don’t like for them to be this upset.

There’s more to why this bothers me so much but I’m cutting this short so I can go snuggle with my kiddos tonight.  It just has to be that way.

The Princess and the Frog’ Soundtrack

Multi-platinum, 3-time Grammy Award-winning Def Jam recording artist Ne-Yo adds two new credits to his long list of successes over the last three years, starting with the announcement that his new song, “Never Knew I Needed”, will be the featured end credit song in Walt Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’ animated motion picture event. The single was blasted out to Urban, Urban AC and Rhythmic radio on October 14th. Plans for the video, directed by Melina, will be announced shortly. The soundtrack album will be available November 23rd, and the movie, whose action takes place in New Orleans and the Louisiana bayou, will open in theatres on December 11th.

In addition to Ne-Yo’s contribution, ‘The Princess and the Frog’ Soundtrack boosts a colorful collection of original songs and a lively orchestral score, both composed and conducted by Randy Newman.
