You can find Part One of Best Places to Raise Your Kids on Education Uncensored and you can find out the criteria used to make these decisions there. In the meantime, more of my corny commentary.
As I mentioned, I am not fond of cold weather at all and honestly, I’m not sure the degree of employment and learning a place would have to offer to convince me to move somewhere that is highly snowed upon.
Without more chatter, Maine, Maryland and Massachusetts all have places that I might consider if I thought I was getting a good vacation south more than a couple of times each winter. Michigan, however, won’t get us, even in Ann Arbor, Royal Oak or Portage.
Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and North Dakota aren’t even on my radar. I’m sorry. I’m sure they are nice places, I just….oh the cold brrrrr
You couldn’t convince me to move to Mississippi even if Gulfport, Hattiesburg and Jackson rank at the top of the lists of good places in Mississippi, I’m not moving there!
While I think living in Las Vegas might have been a good move when I was younger and possibly for my husband with his great skills, I’m not sure raising children there is a great idea.
New Jersey with it’s cold weather would have to be astoundingly convincing that New York, East Brunswick and Bloomfield are great places. At last if we moved to Albuquerque New Mexico, or even Santa Fe, I’d get my warm weather and my children would probably quickly learn a new language. My husband speaks a bit of Spanish and the kids pick that up so quick, it’s amazing.
Ahhh Buffalo, New York just rings cold and snowy to me and I’m not sure I could ever find a reason to move there and make it a good move. Again, vacations, vacations, vacations.
