Parental Involvement…

So, there is a great post in the Huffington Post regarding the parental involvement when it comes to their children and their parenting and education. The first piece of this I read was obviously the first paragraph….and I quote…
You’d never hire someone to do the most difficult and important job on Earth, give them the responsibility to care for your most valuable asset, and toss him or her head first into the job without any training. Yet, we do it every day as new parents, each time a child is born.
I’ve heard many times since shortly before I had kids that having a child is kind of like ripping your heart out and letting it walk around outside your body.
And, then the article goes on to say…
Multiple studies prove that the higher self-esteem our children have, the more successful they’ll be in life. We strive to raise our children with a sense of self-worth and confidence. Raising our voice in a crowd to tell our child that they are not worthy does little to accomplish this goal.
So, with that… I have to wonder…where do you fall in this all important game called parenting?
