Educating the World – One Person at a Time

Do you think people realize that volunteer means volunteer?

I am being vague here but if you volunteer something, your time, your services, etc, and you are treated disrespectfully, where do you get the motivation to keep going?

I can only say that I think jealousy plays a large role in people’s actions but the fact is, if you over the age of 25 (and these people that I’m talking about are definitely over 25), and you are a professional, educated and working in a job that makes you a role model, shouldn’t you just automatically be appreciative of those who are willing to make your job easier?

If my son’s school were a company, (and really they are), their behavior today would be considered unacceptable.  You simply don’t shoot yourself in the foot or cut off your nose to spite your face.  And when you have someone who is giving………making your company a better company, raising the clout of your company and in all reality, making money for your company….it’s just not a good idea to be a jerk to them.

Volunteers are just what they are and their services can be terminated at any time and without notice.  And, if you’ve already found yourself relying on this volunteer, it’s definitely not a good idea to go around biting the hand that feeds you.

Stepping off my ridiculous soap box….
