When the Grinch discovered there was no way to keep Christmas from coming on Christmas Day, he devised a new plan..though not quite as mean…he licked all the candy canes until they turned GREEN!

No, my kids don’t attend a bad school but I needed a nifty title. The bottom line is there are “things” that happen everywhere. Moreover, I’ve never been shy about telling you when I was unhappy but I have one under my hat and that’s where it will stay.
Why? Have I been reformed?
Absolutely not, but…I have an adorable story that way out does that………
Ditto Boy had his glass party today, unbelievable what his teacher does. I knew she was good to my baby and I know, he is like me, he is a bit pushy and over bearing….and she don’t even care…she loves him anyway.
Honestly, it’s not easy to like that many personalities at one time. But, she had them so lined up with Christmas cheer that was unbelievable.
The highlights of the pre-story go like this, Monday, they read a book about the Gingerbread Man, Tuesday, they watched The Grinch, and yesterday, the Gingerbread Man was suppose to run away…….today, they were to get candy canes at their party…the ones that the Grinch did NOT lick.
However, the weather had other plans and they didn’t have school yesterday. His teacher had something at home she needed to handle and went to the school at 6:30 yesterday morning to set out all their supplies for the craft and the candy canes that the Grinch had licked. Then, school was called off.
So, today, they had their party, they had candy canes that the Grinch had not licked, they had breakfast foods, and then they had chips and snack cake party foods, they had goody bags and they had another gift. No kidding…..that’s incredible.
You know, school is not what it used to be, so many rules and regulations and most all of them are good for both the kids and the teachers. The parents get some reprieve that too. Although it would be easy to give the kids candy and cakes and soda and all those evil things, that just isn’t the norm anymore. (See Michelle Obama’s new Nutrition Bill that passed…hooooray!)
However, this is the first party they have had and so obviously, it was treat day. And Ditto Boy’s teacher loves the fun days. I’m going to tell you this and maybe we won’t all get in trouble, but it is important for you to understand how awesome this woman is to those kids.
Sidenote: When I taught school, I never worried too much about the dress code, who had what on their T-Shirt and who was chewing gum. As long as it didn’t interfere with my progress throughout the day, I didn’t notice. But, there are some people (teachers) who do, there are some who just seem to be more about that than actually anything that is really important. Ditto Boy’s teacher is not one of those.
You see, there was gum in some of the stuff they received in their goody bags today. I don’t know if it came from another child that brought goody bags or what but……she let them chew it. And, when it was time for school to dismiss, she reminded all of them that gum was a special treat and although she let them have it in her room today only, they would have to spit it out so that they wouldn’t get in trouble once they were in the hallway.
That’s my kind of teacher………..
